After searching long and hard for an internet security product that was compatible with my computer the family edition 2001 seemed to be right one. As I own a Pentium 11 processor computer compatibility of the software was crucial to get maximum performance. The criteria for the search was that it should be compatible with my computer, take up less drive space, does not slow the computer down, parental control and virus checking. The family edition 2001 definitely matched all the criterias plus more. The software was cheap, easy to install and without doubt user friendly. A word of advice to all potential buyers do check the system requirements of the product before purchasing as the right requirements will give you optimum performance.

After two weeks of usage, the product seems to have bedded in very well, and got used to my regular Internet site visits (this is relevant as it asks whether to allow other apps to access the internet, passwords / keywords to be released etc. etc).It seems to have captured one unauthorised access attempt, and several possible Trojans from entering my system. The Virus protection inspires confidence, and seems to update itself without me having to make a calender note to remind me to do it. However "BigFix" did at one point trell me that there was an update for Virus protection, before the Norton product itself had realised - I think this was just a matter of timing. To sum up, the product was easy to install, easy to use, and has given me a lot more confidence about leaving the Internet connection "up" for hours whilst downloading large files unwatched. If you dont have a Virus guard, and use the internet a lot (especially with an always on connection) then I would thoroughly recommend this product. NB - Amazon is also the cheapest supplier I could find!.

Norton Internet Security is the best piece of software on my PC bar none! Within two days of intalling it. Nortons had prevented 11 Hack attacks! Once detected, the attempted hack is completely blocked for 30 minutes by the software & you can then permantely block the IP address(which is displayed by Nortons) manually on an easy input screen of restricted sites so you are not bothered again! You can even block whole ranges of IP addresses as well! Included in the package is Nortons Anti Virus software for that added piece of mind. All in all well worth the money. After all, How much do you value your Privacy!-Get it now!
